Don't worry Blacky, I don't have a Jimco, or any other buggy for that matter, on order. Maybe it is just us two??
I hadn't heard about the Robinsons or Hayden getting new cars, but I have heard that John Hederics has/will have one. Should be really interesting to see how he goes as he is a very, very good driver.
They obviously go pretty well, are set up well, etc. And looking at the workmanship on the cars, they are very well built. I guess the fact that so many other have them, it also makes it a bit easier to get some assistance with setups, etc.
Brad's is technically not a jimco. Its being made in aus... But it is a copy of his pre-fire car...
I actually thought Brad was having his car made by Jimco, and that it would enter the country in a more complete state then the car he lost at Finke. Of course, either way, I am sure that Brad will put together an extremely good car that will eb very competitive with him behind the wheel.
Actually Locky, I stand corrected mate! I spoke to him this morning to make sure I had the right info.
Brad did have plans to have it built here by a V8 supercar builder in QLD and got planning underway, but decided instead to have it built by Jimco in the US. Sean was on the money there.
Jimco have done the single seat chassis, all fabrication and mounting.
Engine by Shane Wilson (not surprisingly), 6Ltr SBC with kinsler 8TB vertical manifold which should produce around 680-700hp and 550 odd ft/lbs tq. Albins 5 spd sequential box with torque converter.
Body by Larry Storck (same guy who built Chappo's and Buddy's). Fortin hubs, The Brake Man calipers and rotors.
Bilstien are back on board so of course it'll be running blackhawks, as well as Toyo Tyres and BTR's.
DJ Safety Fire-Out system with all stainless tubing.
Its leaving the US on 20 Dec and should be in aus in the 2nd week of Jan. Then Brad, Kaleb and Crofty will be all hands on deck to finish it off with a view to test in March, then off to Hyden in April!
Red Devil are back on board for 2010 as well. :)
Kudos to Brad. It all sounds freaking awesome. Aus 1??? He might be down on HP compared to the TT's but I think I'll be leaning towards him in the tipping comp.
To wet our appetites (and no doubt get us all drooling, or maybe just to tease the hell out of us all) he's given me these post these up:
Its still nice to see that a chenowth has won the Aus 1 plate the last 2 years running. The only national or major offroad championship in the world not to have a jimco at the top.

I do have a Jimco fetish myself but it would be nice to see an Australian frame sporting the Aus1. Cant see it happening just yet, but nice thought. Last Aus built to do well was Travis Milburns RV2.
Yeah i was over in the states and checked out everyones new cars at jimco, they are all looking awesome but i have opted to have my car built elsewhere to get something a little different, we are also having a class 1 being built by dean williams and eric and its coming together nicely and will be on track for testing hopefully early next year with plans to race it at finke, so you might just see an australian built up the point end again
I would love to see aussie built cars win, but unfortunately the yanks have a few years experience on us! I really hope someone with the funds could build a local chassis in the future that is competitive on a world scale.....and I am sure it is possible! Unfortunately it is probably cheaper just to get one from USA! ....although Spaz's truck building effort is as good as anything worldwide, what about a buggy builder having a go?
Lets hope when Ryan gets his extra 200hp instead of the standard LS1 maybe the razorback will get some good results. Failing that get Jarvi on the job.

GETTING OFFROAD RACING THE RECOGNITION IT DESERVES
I have seen Bob Strawbridges new Mk VI Southern Cross Pro class car and love it. I am biased but its a good thing, i think all the shock, rack, engine and box mounts are done when you get the frame. Saving plenty of time in the build process, break out the visa card and its an instant roller. Not sure on the pricing but wont be dear. Theres plenty of good cars being built here. Love to see some build up shots of the new car Danny!

Would be interested to hear some more details aswell or even some pics ???? but i to would look for some thing other than a jimco just seems like to many here so be great to see other builders getting a run......
dad will be racing a pro class buggy next year, first race at finke all going well, the car has been designed by dean and eric aswell as a few engineers from work and has been fully CAD designed in solidworks, the powerplant is a nissan VQ56 out of a nissan titan, it has been stroked to 6lt. Ill be in a truck next year all going well ill get to finke in it but that is pushing it but ill definately be at griffith!!
