You forgot that a 3 can be a 2 or a 1 and a 7 can be an 8, an 8 can be a 1 but you must remove the tail shaft at 1 end, however a 9 can't be a 1 nor an 8 be a 7, a 6 could be a 2,a 4 can't be a 5, but a 4 can be single seat but can't be a 9.......
Oh hang on! did you mention Truggy If you could tell me how a Truggy can be 4,it would be most helpful as 1 is getting to hard with all these exotic USA imports I guess i could put truck panels on it.....but then a 1 or a 2 or a 3 or a 6 or a 9 can be a 4
It reminds me of a poem from kindy 1 1 was a race horse, 2 2 was 1 2, 1 1 1 1 race 2 2 1 1 2 but 3 3 was a Truggy
Yes......with alot of work But with alot of work it could also be a 2 or a 3 or a 4 or an 8 or........aahhh Think i might take up lawn bowls or soccer or cricket or ......aahhhh Then again I might have a go at being a forum junkie and confuse everyone
I'm not sure if I should put this on the forum or in the classifieds and it is a little off topic......
For Sale 1978 VB Commodore 6 cyl auto no rego needs work Happy to sell to 1887 for $100,000 after all it is a V8 supercar and there's nothing wrong with a bit of hard work
You asked for it Wolf!!
Back to topic....One of the best things about this sport is that we have so much freedom in regaurds to building a racecar Not only does it make for a great variety of cars to look at in the pits, it also makes car builders and designers use thier brains, not just copy everyone else As long as the car fits the rules of the class in which it is entered, does it really matter if the same car with a few mods could be entered in another class After all, we need all the cars we can get on race day
Ok lets try this on for size.A class 5 monocoque chassis has a huge disavantage to class 5 cab chassis.Cab chassis 5 can be built like a class4,fibre glass panels,no innergaurds keep steel cab ,doors, don't change chassis dimensions(sky is the limit).Mono class 5 cut a inner gaurd to fit a shock you could be in class 4 before you know it.A class 4 (FRONT AND REAR OF THE BODY MUST SUBSTANTIALLY RESEMBLE THAT OF THE PRODUCTION VEHICLE FROM WHICH IT IS DERIVED)since when has a pipe chassis been a production vehicle? My piont is the newcomer or the guy that is trying to keep costs realistic in class 5 has a uphill battle against, the cars built like class 4 and the other people that let this happen, who let this happen.I could babble on all night but I do know people do feel about this topic.
Kel, Got examples of specific cars (or areas of specific cars) so we know better what your getting at?
It a bit OT, but hows this for a hypothetical...
I bought a class 7 and won 701. I bolted on a turbo and won 801. I removed the front diff and won 501. I cut the firewall out and won 401. I removed the cab and welded on a cage and won 101. I removed a seat and won 901. I put the seat back in and put in a 1600 and won 201 I put in a restictor and won 601. I put in a 1300 and won 301. And I did it all in the same car!

In the new class suggestions they dissussed seperating a-arm and trailing arm buggies, how come they don"t talk about seperating production cab chassis cars to a pipe built chassis cars which to me is a buggy anyway.Making class5 2 or 4wheel drive std/production will straight away make A VERY LARGE NUMBER of class 5 cars not eligable(read rules on class 7 for a better idea)Where do these cars go?
