I think it is gauged for the American class 10/12 cars. Limited horse powered 1650 cars perhaps.

I would also like to know...surely they would build it for more horsepower than 1650.
I figured it might suit prolite at least?
Maybe the cheaper price relates to non-sequential and 4 speed...rather than horsepower?

The HV-1 has a 2ltr gear set and the ring and pinion out of the AGB10 you would think it should handle 200hp at the wheels ???? it supose to be avaible soon in 5 speed

The HV-1 should be good it runs the same gearset as the Mendeola from weddle and the same diff size as the Mendeola.

Febuary issue of dirt sports mag has an article on the HV-1 trans 99% of my questions are answered
Nothing about its limits so i guess the approx 200 hp will have to do

I think a few people are interested in this
have a look at this site www.donsbusbox.com
I assume the weddle HV1 is the gearbox in question

pity you have to go to an american website to find out about an Australian product ???

From what I have heard, even though the components are made in aussie, they are manafactured for weddle and assembled in USA, Albins then imports them complete from weddle if someone wants one. I guess there would be some sort of business agreement involved?
Even though in USA they are being used in some high HP situations, Albins suggested that under 'aussie racing' conditions they would be more suited to super 1650 and sportsman class.
Prolite is yet to be tested, but I am looking forward to the outcome!

450 hp on the sand dunes , same as my mendeola md4 - 2d ,
only good for a max of 300 hp in off road racing though ,

word around the pits is that weddles has brought a share of albins ?

Carl,  Ron is in Kempsey or you can go to Albins direct, would probably use Ron though because he knows all the ratios and helped us work the ones out for our gearboxes. Albins advertise the HV-1s for $9000 plus gst then you'll need the adapter for the shifter which i think was about $422 plus gst, would highly recommend these boxes after driving my old car at milbrodale with a V6 powering it biggrinbiggrin
