That's the original pappa smurf mobile, Quite a good car with a bit of love, I beleive it is a croft frame. It was last raced by johns son and gave John a run for his money in the new car, ( The now Horsfall Mobile, the most raced car in Aust.)

This car is going to be revieved. After selling our old Class 1 (132) Dad and I have been looking for a new project. Does anyone know the original owner as the seller on ebay no longer has the log books for it. Still not sure and what motor we will run. But keep an eye out for us in the next 6 months
I went and had a look at the car 2 weeks ago itas in a real bad state lots of tlc needed
yeah went to pickup the car and it was much worse then first thought. We are looking for a project but this was pretty much just a frame. Everything elese was useless. So we didnt end up getting it
yeh i was also looking for a project but as u say its just a frame a frame that would have to be modified alot to pass the new regs anyway everything else was throw away job lol
Blown? Realy glad it didn't come off. This car after chasing up my memory, was ,as stated, John Borthwicks, then handed on to Son. He was allowed to keep running the car , but when he retied the car the log book would finish at that time! It would never pass scrutineering ever again!
Ring Wayne Horsfall might have something to talk about for your new project

Correct. Ironically still an ex Poppa Smurf car. I'll soon start work on my new 260 & at that time there will be the left over bits of car up for grabs. Haven't decided on a price yet & even though I'll be taking off many usable parts there will still be a good basis for a project with not one but THREE log books, the frame is in need of the new side mods but is well built & proven, not bent, cracked or rusty. I'll post when ready or call me if interested. The number 260 stays with me.
