With the AORC minutes from the April meeting available I see that the class consolidation was put on the table to reduce the number of classes. A discussion which revolves and revolves...
Good to see a serious shot at getting change happening is underway.
Before people start posting about the example given in the minutes (and I know you will!) I think its exactly that - just an example.
The minutes state "Further investigation inot the issue is to occur, as will widespread consultation propr to any significant change being made." Good stuff. Im interested to see what the procedure will be for the investigation and consultation and the time frame suggested for a decision as to what changes (if any) would occur.
Any change this big will always be met with pockets of resistance while people wiegh up the advantages/disadvantages of any suggested change compared to whats sitting in their garage, including us, but I think that change is definately needed, perhaps overdue.

i think the best thing to do is we start by getting very one with a car to vote on weather we change or stay the same. it should be a simlpe yes/no question , then we explore the best way to try and be fair for everyone.
1987 I think you have hit the nail on the head.Give the main decission to the competitors, these are the people who pay club membership, log books, race entrys, aorc registration, manuals(every year at a price)and keep people in a job where positions are questionable.Maybe rules need to be changed to keep up with current times, but should be done very carefully.Personly I would love to see changes but not turn every class upside down.I also see this sport growing but is still very fragile mainly because the back pocket.
