Just a thought that we now have a vacancy within our class's in class 6. What do you think we could put in there.
Maybe limited capacity truck, or maybe the other way unlimited outlaws. Buggies from 1650 to 2 Litres. (there is a bucket load or 1800 motors in prodution cars at the moment let alone the fast deminishing SR20's)
Good discussion point, if they were to replace class 6 I would like to see a limited capacity truck class brought in with motors up to 3.5lts naturally aspirated like what happened when they brought in Prolite.
1650cc single seater a arm or beam 4 speed gear box of any make, minimum weight 850kg with out the driver. this would make for a very affordable class that would be super competetive for both aorc and state races.
Playing Devils Advocate - Why do we need to fill this class? There has been lots of discussion about the number of classes we currently have, some say too many. This could be a way of reducing the number. Remember also we no longer have classes called by numbers as they are call Pro, Prolite etc. The competition no. just helps differentiate them. Food for thought.
yes a single seat restricted class for sure maybe 2 litre or 3 litre maxium engine capacity think scooters example is great idea..this would be great to get this class back as it stands now being in prolite it is hard to compete with some of the cars and peoples budgets i think the gap is to far and we need a budget class. As for minium capacity truck class in my opinion i think there is room for that in one of the other classes maybe class 4 (which was the best entry leval class in the bajas days and a crowd favourite) until the rule change that killed the class. we need more budget leval classes i think when they changed the class structure they killed a lot of the budjet guys off.
How about opening up class 3 to make it all cars upto 1650cc (as there are no performance 1200 being made) and then have class 2 1651cc to 2300cc na(gives use of all the great small 4 motors) then you could still have your small truck class (although I don't think there are enough numbers to sustain it) all other classes remain the same. All in all we would all be able (budget in mind) tobe able to buy performace and use gearboxes that cost less than $10 000
