Last Sunday (16th May) was the first opportunity mini buggy drivers had to meet and enjoy some offroad driving. The SORRA guys made us feel very welcome and gave aus a good chance take a spin in the dirt. Buggies ranged from small homebuilt machines, to Joyner 1 and 2 seaters, up to racing high spec machines powered by 1500cc road bike engines.
There has been much interest in both social and racing events. Around 37 people indicated they would join a mini buggy club and are prepared to support future events. And many are spreading the word to others with buggies but nowhere to legally ride them.
Finally, a place to take a spin, have a chat and catch up on some good times in a place designed for the purpose. A great opportunity.
Let's all get in and support SORRA and the new mini buggy club, for the benefit of us all. Stay tuned for dates of upcoming events and chances to enjoy being involved in your club.
Well said Tim. I was talking to Ian on Sunday and the SORRA guys are very egar to keep up the momentum from Sunday so the next day out or Social day up there will be on the 10/11 of july. Now we will not have the place to ourselves this time because SORRA are having a day night race day. So we will get some day time running and some night track time maybe aswell. More details to follow
Sunday was a great day and I am looking forward to may more of these events. Im still shaking the dust of my wheelchair. I have been trying to contact everyone who indicated that they were interested in the social events i.e. mini buggy events. Some of your details are hard to read. If you have received an email about social buggy group/club could you reply ASAP. If you haven't received an email or phone call from me please contact SORRA to leave contact details, so i can finalise the contact list and circulate it.
The next Social day will be 10/11th July 2010. A day/night meetig We have included the Mini Buggies on our permit for that meeting. It is invisaged that the entry fee for the MINI BUGGIES will be $35 + Day licence $25. A day membership is included in the entry fee, obviously if you became a full member of SORRA, the day membership would not be needed.and the diference would come off the entry fee. Family memberships are $60 & single memberships are $40 per year.
