This is an old idea but i think in this day and age would work far better than it did twenty years ago. The idea is the one of having CLASS REPRESENTATIVES. This post is just to see whether you as competitors think it is a good idea or not. Please give your opinions and thoughts on the subject and if the idea has merit it can be put forward to become a reality. My thoughts on the subject for what they are worth are as follows- Maybe a minimum of 2 reps per class but as many as maybe 1 per state if there are people wanting the job. Class reps would be able to organize their class to literally govern themselves in respect to rule changes for their class only and should be able to go through their own class rules and update them to current times. Of course any proposed rule changes would then go to the governing body for approval or not. This i think would take alot of the work load off the governing body etc and put it more on the class it's self. Remember the Governing bodies are all volunteers and aren't necessarily up to speed on every class development etc. This would also work in reverse by means of the governing bodies being able to get quick and accurate feedback from competitors easily by going through the class reps. This would make it easier for them when trying to implement a rule etc that may or may not be welcomed by the majority for example. Another strong point for the class reps would be the far better communication between both sides which quite frankly has been very lacking in recent times, no more to be said there. Well there it is, read it, think about it and then put your comments forward for all to see. Maybe it will make a difference maybe not but atleast we will know at the end. These are just my thoughts and will be very interested to see what replies come in. This is not just for national guys it is for the cluby guy aswell. I don't think we will break 10,000 views on this one but you never know!! Regards Gavin
I remember those days, but back then I didn't think they (class reps) were a necessity. I think nowadays, that someone should have thought of this sooner, and if it doesn't get too complicated (like our levels of government) that it deserves serious consideration!
