rear veiw mirrors

Here is one for the smart people  Q. can someone tell me why your mirrors have to be on the outside of your car . My new car has two  on the inside. my radiator is mounted low in the back and with the mirrors i can see out the back of the car.  But i must be honest they are limited in there vision BUT so are the ones on the outside i havn't had a look at the cams manual i just thought it would be a common sense thing

external mirrors are more likely to get wiped out and then you can't see anything behind you.

from the CAMS Manual-

GR 7 REAR VISION
Each vehicle shall be fitted with at least two rear vision mirrors each of which must have a reflecting surface of at least 50cm2, and which must provide unobstructed view to the rear of the car for the driver or, where applicable, the passenger.

Finally a rule that makes sense, it doesnt say where they have to be

I have had two mirrors inside my buggy for the last five years and it has never been an issue.
I don't think you have anything to worry about.
