Here is one for the smart people Q. can someone tell me why your mirrors have to be on the outside of your car . My new car has two on the inside. my radiator is mounted low in the back and with the mirrors i can see out the back of the car. But i must be honest they are limited in there vision BUT so are the ones on the outside i havn't had a look at the cams manual i just thought it would be a common sense thing
garry i had the same problem with the mirrors on my jimco the national series scruitineer wanted them relocated to the outside and after much deliberation he saw the errors in his arguement
external mirrors are more likely to get wiped out and then you can't see anything behind you.
from the CAMS Manual-
GR 7 REAR VISION Each vehicle shall be fitted with at least two rear vision mirrors each of which must have a reflecting surface of at least 50cm2, and which must provide unobstructed view to the rear of the car for the driver or, where applicable, the passenger.
Finally a rule that makes sense, it doesnt say where they have to be
