Thank you for putting up the calendar. Just a few things i found in the calendar i see that grifftth is not a state round ???. I think the nsw compertitor should be supporting this race in the nsw championship. What do other people think.?????? Sorry but what is the kempsey club doing thay have put dondingalong a week before griffith and what happen to having an even calendar two races in the first half of the year and then five of the year you think there would be more of a gap so you have round1 then a 3week to work on the cars than 6weeks then 5weeks and then 2 weeks to work on cars 5 weeeks and then 2 weeks. why is dondingalong change it march date. And i see that kempsey has there biennial inspection in january.so you think people than still would have two months to fix any problems.
Why is Griffth not a state round I think every Club should have a state race Why does Kempey have 2 and Griffth have none allso need more time between some of the races when I was on the state panel we had a rule that there had to be a biger gap How was the calendar worked out I race state no one ask me .
This would appear to be a (clubs) selfish decision. Even though Griffith might not be a state round, does not mean that state level people wont attend. And it's not just the car entry, how about those who might have been pit crewing, spectating, or involved in other ways that are now torn between 2 events? It is strange that a panel could exist that would make such a decision, NSW off road DOES have more than ONE club!
Well that sux that Griffith is now not a State Round, it was on my list of rounds to do! Maybe ill run this and miss a couple of state rounds... was it a Griffith Club Decision or NSW Board?? I loved the Griffith round as you could run your race then hang round and watch the Big Boys finsih.
There was a letter from CAMS asking for people who were interested to nominate for the NSW Off Road Panel. not sure if the positions are filled yet? Could be an oportunity for some people to get involved and help guide our sport in NSW. Just a thought!
To back up Heyu. If you are not happy with the way the NSW Off Road Championship is being administered, do something about it instead of whinging on the Forum. Join the State Off Road Panel and find out what is involved in administering the NSW Championship.
Does the state panel member have to ask the question to its club members before you makes a vote on what the club whats ???? or is it up to the person on the panel.
Hey DUSTEATER I tried to be on the state panel but everything I tried to put through the state panel lasted 1 or 2 meetings and was forgotten ,so there is no point telling us to do something about it as this just does not work, maybe you should go on the panel and try instead of telling other people to do so.

Paul If you had problems on the Panel I suggest you take it up with those on the Panel. There may be a reason nobody wanted to listen to your suggestions. I served on the NSW Off Road Panel from the mid 80s to the mid 90s, about 8 to 10 years, so I think I have given reasonable service to the sport at that level. Anything else?
OK dusteater 'one heyu doesn't need backing up I'm sure he can do that himself til the cows come home ;secondly why get personal oz track simply said he tried but failed are u suggesting his ideas are worthless and that's why theywont listen i think not' its impossible for egotistical maniacs to step back and listen isn't it mate . I see no questions of you re contribution to off road . and yes there is something else ' start wearing a mask the dust isn't good for you re brain
Carl, I will always lend my support to my good friends. I just reread my last post and couldnt find anything I would consider personal, as I said he should take it up with those on the Panel. Not sure what you mean by the "egotistical maniac" thing. Too late to do anything about the dusted brain, after 30 years in this sport the damage I'm afraid is permanent. Occupational hazard. (Dont tell OH&S)
Ok, fair enough. So since you've done your time, can you tell me how we get state and national back on the one date? As i had planned to make them eat my dust!!! or at least try!?! But as the calander stands i wont get a chance unless i dump a state round and do a national...whats the point??? From day one ive dreamt of competeing in a national round. So you got any ideas, or do you think it should just stay separate??? July last year was my first race, in half a year im already crackin' up...think i need a biannual inspection myself!!!! One thing i do know tho, if were no all on the same page, this sports going nowhere fast!
Crikey, "done my time", sounds like I have been a guest of the government! :)
At this stage, with the National and State Championship calenders set for this year I would say that you have no hope. At this point I would start talking to your NSW Panel representative and see where they stand with a view to getting Griffith back on the NSWORC calender for 2012. Many competitors strive to be able to compete an a National event, so you are not alone. Having Griffith back on the National Calender is a big boost for the sport in NSW.
I believe that a National round could have a place in the NSW Championship but its not that easy. One must consider that there are 7 other rounds in the NSW Championship and the more events you put into the NSW Championship the harder it is for each round to get good numbers for their event. In an ideal world this wouldnt be a problem but as Im sure you are aware it costs money to race and the more rounds there are in a Championship the more expensive it is to run the whole Championship.
And so there lies the dilemma, do you run lots of rounds with small grids making events less viable financially or do you run fewer rounds with bigger fields at the cost of some events people want to race in. Managing the NSW Championship is no easy task, there are many interests at stake and hundreds of people in many clubs in NSW to keep happy. Its a difficult balancing act that invariably leaves some people unhappy. I doubt you will ever get everyone on the same page but if you are doing what you believe is your best for the sport, what more can you ask. Also remember that everyone who is on the NSW Panel are volunteers and are there because they believe that are doing the right thing and that included Paul Grant.
Live your dream and race in a National round. It will be an unforgettable experience and the NSW Championship will - hopefully - be there for another year. You're only new to the sport, enjoy yourself and remember you're not racing for sheep stations.
just quickly was the 8 day rule changed or ignored when the 2011 calender was approved??
I believe previously a motion was forwarded, passed and enforced that there was to be a minimum 8 days between events. Can anyone tell me if this is still the case??
Not many. looking at the callender the only national event in NSW can't be attended unless you own two cars. So because of bad planning two events may suffer with numbers. clubs need numbers to survive so this makes no sense whatsoever. But we have the same problem with milbrodale and crookwell state rounds. Should someone do a survey to see how many NSW cars want to do nationals and do the states insist on the national callender bieng put up earlier so the states can plan around these better
