They bolt up but,
you need to use longer bolts & a different starter motor.

Don't forget to check the imput shaft length.

I have a 2lt box that I changed the bell housing on to what I think is a 1800 so I can use a standard beetle / kombi stater motor (which I have a few of for spares) & found the imput shaft was around 8mm to long & wouldn't let the motor mate with the box.

8mm + 4" grinder = :)

I've just bought a 2litre kombi box to replace my 1600 box, am i able to use the same adaptor plate?or are the bellhousing different between 1600 and 2 litre?
And if they are different who makes adaptor plates?i've got an e15et motor.
Any information would be apprieciated.thanx.

Bell housing is same but different.
Same pattern so uses same adaptor. you just need to use longer bolts as the boss's are deeper & a 2 litre starter motor, (longer).
OR
Unbolt your 1600 bell housing & swap with your 2 litre one, then change nothing.

2 litre is a stronger bell housing then 1600 or 1800 but costs nothing to change.

If you put the 1600 bell housing on the 2ltr box watch the length of the shaft. you will have to remove the bearing from the end of crankshaft if you haven't already, the one in the flywheel does the job now.
