Sadly just heard that this years Griffith 700 has been cancelled. Both major sponsors have pulled out making the event financially inviable. Dont give up on a future Griffith 700. A National round in NSW is good for NSW Off Road Racing. Congrats to members of Griffith Off Road Club for giving it their best.
Yes what is going on with the national off road championship. Yes we do need a national in nsw but sound like its getting to hard. I heard that griffith were going to have it one year and then Mildura the next year what happed to that .
Will there be another group or state putting thier hand up to take the round over for this year or will we be one round short. Donald cancelled this year could they take the round now that the ground is drying out.
what a shame lets hope another event can take the round and format in nsw if griffith cant be back for next year. my vote would be warialda long course
A little birdy told me today that wheels are turning to have an alternative venue probably in another state. That's probably more than i'm allowed to say.
I seriously doubt Sea lake would be able to run it then. They have their customary date for the june long weekend which is when Finke is also run, and I doubt that logistically they could run two large events in such a short timeframe. Running later in the year also causes issues with the local farmers and their crops, etc. be great if they did, I would love to see the National back there.
Donald would also be great, but from a distance I would say that it would still be too wet to run. There has been no summer down this way, and lots of cold, wet weather, so I would be surprised if they could do it. Again, be great if they did, but not sure that they could.
I wonder about the Glenroy Plains event? It is around the same time as griffith was planned for, or perhaps Waikerie if the dates could be pushed back a bit?
I might be biased but I think Milbrodale is the best race weekend I go to. The track is awesome, it is run very well, camping is at the track, there are plenty of good spectating points, oh yea and the commentary is excellent.

No-one could ever NOT suggest milbrodale, best event that I ever go to, and looking forward to returning this year. Not sure the track would suit national type event though? It would certainly need a change in format...maybe a 5 min stop each lap for dust on the long course? I am sure it could be done, and would love to see it. I think it was suggested a few years ago, and the organisers thought it was possible!

Yep Milbrodale is great and the commentary is umm adequate but thanks anyway
yes it has been announced that Round 3 of the Australian Off-Road Championship at Griffith has been replaced with the Flinders 450 set to take place at Baroota South Australia on the weekend of the 22nd-24th of July.
Many thanks to the organisers of the event for stepping up to put together a national round on such short notice. It would have been a very short round without it.
