Hyden WA- Outer Bounds Racing has taken a one-two finish in the ARB Hyden Humps 400, the final round of the Western Australian off road championships. Brian and Travis Robinson blitz the field in the black PORTER running a flawless race to lead every section and taking the chequered flag by 22minutes on his closest rival, Beau Robinson and Drew Latham. Beau ran a good race, he prologued 7th which was his first drive of the car, he then moved up to 3rd place but hitting a marker resulted in a 5minute penalty which dropped him back down to 7th. He fought back hard on day 2 and worked his way into second place, which is where he stayed.
“It was a very good race; I gained a lot of experience,” said Beau, who was making his debut as a driver. “It was difficult to make a move on Dad, though my car was very good. His car and talent was something I just couldn’t keep up with.”
“The whole team put in a tremendous effort, we worked hard this weekend to make our cars better than anyone else’s, it’s great to see that my son is my closest rival in his very first event as a driver, it just goes to show that we have got two very good cars in terms of performance and we can only get better,” said Brian, who after a disappointing result at the Griffith 500 a few weeks earlier is ecstatic about this win.
The next race for the Robinsons will be Round 1 of the Australian off-road racing championships. OBR would like to say a special thanks to BFGoodrich Tyres Australia and all of the family and crew who help us out.
