Membership:
Membership of SORRA was due in January
Correction to rule 9.6.1:
Correct typo from lease to liaise.Passed Unanimous.
Incorporation:
Basic talk about what is incorporation and the guidelines so we are covered by SORRAs incorporation policy.
Incorporation simply put, protects the assets of its members if the SMBC is sued. This would cost approx $400.00 p.a.The conditions for the SMBC to be covered by SORRAs policy are:
·all members must be financial,
·all our funds must be banked by SORRA.
This last point doesnt mean we cant raise money for our club.It will appear on SORRAs books as a separate item.
Decided to comply to these conditions.Passed Unanimous
Colo Heights Meet:
Sunday 26th June.People wishing to attend must be there by 7.00 am for briefing. Some people from SORRA will be going up Saturday night. The track that will be in use is the Giddy Giddy track, not the won we have used in the passed.
Official Training
To run our own meets on the Giddy Giddy track we need 3 main official, (Clerk of Course, Permit Events Secretary and a Steward) plus recovery. On the day these positions can be interchangeable with other qualified personal, so the work load can be shared.
Fixing a regular meeting date
The second Tuesday of every second month at 8.00 p.m.The next meeting will be held on August the 9th.
Calender of events
After June 26th the next meet at Colo Heights is August 6th & 7th and then 19th & 20th November. This will be the state final.
General Business:
Ian discussed a CAMS approved meet which was held in North East NSW where Polaris buggies raced against much bigger vehicles. The top ranked Polaris cam third.
On similar lines Nathan talked about the MGCC (MG Car Club) meet that he had attended in his Polaris.Discussion was generated about CAMS having approved Polaris specifications for racing and if we can see these specifications. Also Nathan talked about the MGCCs CAMS approved Special Class. This class had many different buggies and could accommodate many, if not all our buggies.
Also discussed was Motorkhanas and Khanacrosses events for buggies
To be actioned:
Ian to contact Simon Lakeman (CAMS rep) about Special Clasas and to invite him to our next meeting
Daniel to look into CAMS Special Class specifications
Kevin to contact MGCC about this special class they run.
All SMBC members precent were unavailable to attended the June meet
