cv angles


i ran 26 deg angles which i believed to be the limit,the chromoly cages are starting to wear(buggys done next to no racing)does anyone have any ideas on maximum angle minimum cv wear,my diff centre is now higher,so i have to lower the buggy???????

Hi Tine,
Why is your Diff Center higher?
26 Deg is okay to run, but as you have noticed the cv's with wear quicker.
Alot of people run 22 Deg to combat this.
I think 24 is a good safe number.
Regarding lowering the buggy, your not running 26* at ride height are you?
This would mean you have no droop?
If so, you should think about lowering the buggy anyway.
If not, then you can just re-adjust with your limit straps to suit the new max angle.

the car has lots of restrictions due to being built in the late 80's,(the torsion bar tube sits 60mm above floor level,the rear cage above engine sits really low,all of this restricts travel with long arms and bigger diff,it was never ment to do what im doing to it) the diff is quite a bit larger lifting the centre height,sitting at 26 deg now there is no droop,we are lowering it and fitting coil overs to stop it bottoming out,im thinking i might have a soft cage,only 1 out of the 4 is wearing,the other 3 are perfect,so now im thinking the angle is not the problem......
