Interested in getting into the sport for kicks, dont really care about being competetive.
Looking for something cheap to use as a starting point. Suitable for either Super 1650 or Sportsman. Dont mind spending money to get it up to standard, but prefer as complete as possible. dont mind a roller or blown motor/gearbox, but otherwise reasonably complete
If you know of anything sitting in a shed, owners just want it gone, etc, please post away. Minister of war and finance wont let me spend much these days, so a few grand max. I'll then set up intricate schemes to funnel money out of accounts to spend on fixing it up
Oh, and feel free to tell me i'm dreaming, or should just start by offering myself out as a Nav...

the idea for a cheap Buggy is good, but personally if you can get one going with all the right stuff on it, with the inspections done, it will be a lot less heartache.
Have a look at husler263 in the recent posts. Value for money is good, when you take into account what comes with it. whatever you buy will have to be altered to suit .
Yeah! I know ,its more than you want to spend at this point of time but if you come along & get involved in SORRA & the racing, you will be able to check out options and still save towards a toy. you will also have more knowledge of what you are looking at
I was thinking about coming up for that just to check out the different cars but wasn't sure how spectator friendly it was. Thinking the sunday looks like the day to be there?

I guess i dont mind a fixer upper, but probably right about needing more time to work it out. Only real experience with off road is the offroad rush v8 buggies day i did. Oh, and a crap load of youtube
Hi Anthony, when we reply to a post, we usually speak from experience, we all know where you are coming from, and you need to understand where we are coming from. Sometimes buying a cheap car can result in a disheartening result, therefor causing a bad taste of our sport from poor experiences through having the wrong advice. All I can say is that the budget is never right, but Try to start in a car that will at least give you a finish at club level, and believe me that can be a big ask sometimes.....but if you at least get that, than your off road life will be far more enjoyable. And sometimes spending that bit extra can save a hell of a lot in the long run, even though you might not think so now! Heaps of us have been in your position before, but please keep enthused.
Btw, who is hustler? They really should have their name to be part of the forum! Anthony, you will be able to get a less expensive buggy, if required, just keep your eye on all the different classifieds.
Dont worry, i get where your coming from. Might be alot easier to wait a bit. Still, no harm in watching the forums, and maybe watch from the sidelines a bit before then.

COLO Park is user friendly, hot showers, camping and not bad viewing.
We love stupid questions, never be afraid to ask them.
at club races, it is usually easier to talk to the owners and guys & Gals involved because the atmosphere is a little more relaxed than the State & National rounds. If you start looking from this point and then spread your wings from there to the bigger type events.

dont be affraid to ask, i started out this year, and love it. everyone is there to help. way i look at is, more freindly we are the more people we attarct to the sport and then have more competion.. but just ask mate and dont be affraid. i have done to club rounds now in my prolite and love it i still smiling from the last one on the weekend. and going to try a state round in august. and i nervous as :)
