A arm rack selection and mounting

im helping a mate with his truck build and we're looking at racks but not to sure which width rack we need , eg center or wide load ,

i recall seeing an artical in dirt comp about mounting of racks , and it mentioned that the tie rod ends of the rack should be in the vertical line between the top and bottom arm mounts , would this be a good starting point ?

cheers jeremy

Yep if you draw a straight line between the centre points of the top and bottom arm mounts your tie rods should be mounted on that line, and keep your tie rod parallel with the bottom arm, and you will be 90% there.
