direct injection

are we allowed to run direct injection in prolite and super 1650 ?

it's fast become the norm in new production cars ,

No problem with the direct injection, though they usually come with a turbo...

Main issue will be the engine management as the fuel pressures and injectors will require special control.

Cheers

I think Anthony is referring to petrol engines?
If so, I cant see what the problem with any rules would be?

Yep, my response was directed (pun intended) for petrol. They are essentially the same injection system.

anthony ? who's he , hehe :)
was reading the right up one the new hyundai 2 door and it has a N/A 1.6 L direct injected petrol engine with daul vvt

i've been told the petrol engine uses basicly the same high pressure fuel pump as the oil burners ,

have also noticed on RACE-DEZERT that direct injection has been banned in the US class 10's

That's because Direct injection is witchcraft, just like turbos and engines without spark plugs.

If you're looking at DI Fez, why not go the whole hog and up the compression to make the most of E85? Your little engine shouldn't burn too much so carrying the quantities required is actually feasible in your class. While you're at it there are some funky things you can do with the valve sizing to improve low RPM swirl which really helps DI engines along.
