if i had my time again i'd go the HV-1 the mendy 2-d has been fine , but had a couple of little issues with shift forks , the guys in the states said it was very rare though , and i've since changed the leverage ratio of my gear shifter , seems to be ok thus far
the bounus of the 2-d is the gear shifter is located in the center of the case , not on one side like the HV-1 i also belive the gears are wider in the 2-d , due to the HV-1 having a constant mesh reverse gear from the 094 bus box but the 2-d has the weak rerverse gear from a kombi box ( 091 bus box ) im pritty sure they both have the same mounting positions

WOW Tine thats one hell of a weird gearset. With a 33 inch tyre and an 8000 RPM limit the gears come out below. You must have some serious torque to pull fourth!!! Would have thought a prolite would have maxed out around 210kph? Or have you setup the fourth for long cruise 6000RPM drags? Out of curiousity, your first looks tall for a prolite, do you like it? (I gear all my first's tall as I like to work the gear in tight corners).
Results KPH between gears Redline km/h. RPM Drop. RPM in new gear 1st 85 0 0 2nd 48 133 2869 5131 3rd 63 197 2581 5419 4th 70 266 2095 5905

yes,it never seems to work on paper, the ratios are quite good,i have only run short course and can take hairpins in third gear no problems,my cars limited to 7000revs,i have never hit the limiter,i think its up another gear at 6000rpm,so if you work off max revs 6000rpm the ratios arent too bad,,,im in top gear every short straights(definitly wouldnt lower ratios)
Ive said it on other spots in this forum, we ran the ARB series last year with the weddle without pulling it out of the car once. Its sitting in front of a stock VQ35DE and putting down a tad over 200hp dynoed on 33" race tyres.
At two events we ran with little to no brakes and had to use the box to slow the car - it handled it fine. :) I would definitely recommend it.
