Thanks mate. No real plans really. I lost count of how many hours I spent in front of the tele with a graph pad, protractor and compass drawing my ideas and changing them to hopefully work a treat. The chassis is being designed as we go and so far so good. Fingers crossed it keeps going smoothly like it is.

G'day all.

A good week in the shed has seen a few more jobs finished. We had a few delays with planning the front arms etc and a few changes to get it all to work well and get the characteristics on the front right. We are happy with the result. The upright has been jigged now so I should be able to whip them out nice and quick now. The arm will be jigged tommorrow. The cockpit area is coming along well also. Planning on having everything mounted, that needs to be mounted, up to the radiator by christmas.

Here are a few more photos of our progress.

Cheers
Luke

Hi everyone.

Its been a while since I have posted but it has been very hectic in the shed and over the silly season so I thought I would give you an update.

- Front end is finished besides tie rods (LH thread tap arrived today so that can now be done)

- Radiator is mounted

- Engine and trans coolers are mounted

- Gearbox is mounted

- 1 rear arm is made and jigged... Next arm will be finished by friday

- Cabin area just needs seat belt mounts and radiator shield

- Rear shocks will be mounted by the end of this weekend (hopefully)

We couldn't have done this build as quickly and as easily if it wasn't for the help of Cameron from Racer Imports. Any questions, any parts, it is never too hard for him. Anything you need, give him a call.

Thanks for the kind comments guys. We are getting closer and I can see the end in sight now. We should have the sway bar mounted by mid week which means I can get started on mounting the engine and doing the accessories.

The front end has been fully assembled but I have to change the front springs as the car seems to be quite a bit lighter than we first thought.

We are still hoping to have the car at the sparkies on March 1st and debuting the car at Round 1 of the SA Championships in April.

Cheers

Luke

looks fantastic Luke, are you going to shroud that radiator or the fans will suck enough without it?

Thanks mate. We are going to leave the radiator as it is. We have been advised (by the people that know more about this than me) that this "skeleton" shroud will be more efficient at high speeds and the fans will suck ample through the lower speeds. Cheers

Well work is progressing ok. I have been working on a customer performance 2wd for the past 2 weeks so I've been a bit stretched for time on the new car. We have got the front end all together and today made it into a rolling chassis. We are pretty happy with the rear springs. It is sitting high now, but we have yet to put engine, water pipes, exhast and air cleaners in. From our experience with the Chenowth we think we are pretty close to right with those springs. Brake lines are getting started tomorrow and engine will be slotted in and mounted early next week.

Bonnet is at the fibreglassers now, roof is being ordered, radiator shield should be installed by the end of the week and that would have most of the cabin area completed.

Dont forget to check out and "like" our erceg motorsport facebook page.

Cheers all

Luke

Righto... few updates. Not too much "big stuff" happening. Its all up to the little stuff now that doesn't seem to ever end. Engine is mounted now and gearbox is plumbed. Mufflers are ordered and new inlet is ordered so just waiting on them. The third combination on springs is on the front of the car and these finally look like they are going to work. Thanks to Cam from Racer Imports for being so patient with me through my constant spring changes.

Hoping to have power steering mounted and plumbed by the weekend and then hopefully have the exhaust and water pipes done by the weekend after. Then it pretty much off to sparky and panels... Gettin pretty keen now :)

Few more small updates. getting there slowly... only 4 weeks left till we want to debut the car so I need to pull my finger out and get cracking a bit quicker I think.

Sorry about the lack of updates, but I've been quite busy getting this car finished, yes FINISHED!!

It was raced at the Mannum Enduro last weekend and performed above my expectations.

We split a CV boot on lap 2 and then a front upright let go after about 100km, which put us out of the event. We prologued 1st in class and 5th outright and then finished 3rd in the top 10 shootout. There will be a video uploaded by the end of the week so stay tuned!

Below are some finished photos of the car. I hope you have enjoyed the build and please join our facebook page to keep informed about the teams progress throughout the season.

Thanks Jump... Yeh definitly the plan in the near future. I just want to get more test km under the belt to test it out as hard as I can to see how my designs hold up. Then I would love to start manufacturing them to sell.
Cheers
Luke

Thanks for the comments Brad,

All the front end is laser cut by Laser3D in Adelaide. Really good to deal with and fairly priced. Very happy with them.

Cheers
Luke
