Front Beam Replacement

I have to replace the front beam in my buggy and all I read is standard length plus XX inches.

How long is a standard beam to start with?

Mine is 2" (50mm) diameter X 42" (1050mm) long.

Close to accurate as it is now bent to the shape of the tree that leapt out in front of me.

Anyone got one to sell?

I am guessing but maybe find a VW beetle and measure it, I would think that is what is considered "standard". Just a thought.

dont think it really matters what width you make it,we did add 4" then 6"and then the big banger8",i think now you make it to suit your buggys dimensions, remembering it has to fit on the trailer and the trees and gate posts get horribly closer,,,,

A standard 1200 VW front end is about 860 mm overall. (beam only of course)

Your right the only real consideration is the trailer as it is 2m wide and the wheels fit on at the front by 25mm either side. It can be widened easily to suit the front end width.
I just don't know what width beam I have to order to replace mine as I don't know whether mine is a 4, 6 or 8 over standard because I don't know what standard is.
If anyone know the standard width it would be great.

I will post a pic as soon as I can figure out how.

i think whoever you get it from would know the overall length, you should stick with that so you dont have to replace steering rods etc

You legend thanks for the measurement
The steering rods are the shape of the tree as well
The top of the frame is bent up to the dash
