At our next Club event 23/24th February there will be be a MotorKana as a component of it. Sup Regs for Motorkhana and Race are here in this post.
If you can obtain the licences you need from CAMS on line it would be much apreciated. All the info on the type of licence you need is in Motorkhana sup regs.
A 2JNS (junior) or 2NS cost is about $15 for the year. This licence is a Non Speed event licence.
the MotorKana part will be held on Saturday afternoon and is an introduction for Juniors to motorsport. The big kids can play too
it will also be a good time to get your Mini Buggy out and come along to play. Costs wil be minimal and you can get a day licence on line .
I will put up more info on the event itself & costs shortly. You can even run in your street car. Young adults (Kids) 12 years & over are able to be a part of this day
You don't have to have a car licence. If you are going to participate in this event with your children, we would envisage that you would bring cushions and other aids that will make it possible for your juniors or shorter persons to be able to enjoy their learning experiences in motor sport. It is an event for all, new, old, experienced, even the ones that might have forgotten how much fun it is to play with cars & Buggies. So Spread the word , get your toy out and come along and have some fun playing MotorKana at COLO PARK 23rd February

This is an event for all SORRA or Sydney Mini Buggy members. Saturday will be the Motorkhana and then on Sunday normal Club Off Road event. The Motorkhana is a chance for all those 12 and 13 year old kids to get into the car and have a go. If they are not ready to try driving they can be in the passenger seat whilst mum or dad do the actual driving. The licence required for juniors is a 2NSJ and for adults a 2NS. You can apply on line. Cost for juniors is $15 for a year. Great value. As mentioned previously you can even use your road car and they can be double entered up to a maximum of 5 entries per car. Great chance for navigators to be given a drive etc. Requirements for apparel are CAMS approved helmet see schedule in CAMS Manual, and fire retardant clothing from neck, to wrist to ankle. Cars must have seat belts, working brakes, and a fire extinguisher. (only 1 required). Buggies on Sunday will be as normal for Off Road Race etc. Supp-Regs and Entry Forms for each event will be put up as soon as permits are through.

Motorkhana went well today, with all participants improving over the day in spite of the rain. Windscreens are good. Mums Toyota went home in one piece after all three sons had a play in it with Dad. (Dad calmed down as the day progressed.) vehicles ranged from a Polaris, a Gemini, a Toyota Carolla , a Toyota Camry, a Toyota ute and a Ford Ute. A great variety of toys. Considering the weather , this was a good number of people coming along to have a go at the Motorkhana part of the weekend.
Seven cars have been scrutineered ready for Sundays racing and others have rung up to indicate they wil be here for the Sunday morning Scrutiny. We have made a couple of changes to the track to try and make sure there won't be too many dramas. In this weather, horsepower will have to be used judiciously. As the sun dries up the track on Sunday (got to look on bright side) there is sure to be great racing.
Congratulations to all the participants in the Motorkhana on Saturday. Despite the non-stop rain all of the competitors completed all three tests and improved their times. It was great to see the increase in confidence in the junior group. A big thank you to David and Matthew Nikiforoff and Brad Bishop for their effort is setting up the tests. They were all soaked through for much of the day as umbrellas were useless when putting out markers for garages and witches hats for course markers, but I am sure the competitors were grateful for your efforts. Results will be forwarded to the competitors this week. The Polaris of Brad Burton won the day but Karl Neil in the D&m Auto Gemini was the winner of the more conventional cars. Adam Panetta was the quickest of the juniors. Maria Raccosta was our only lady entrant coming in fourth outright. No penalties were applied in this event as it was the first time for competitors and officials alike, but at the next Motorkhana penatlies will apply. Hopefully we will see some more ladies and juniors at the next event.
Mistake in results above. Adam Panetta was the fastest of the junior drivers, but Joshua Irons was the first junior home navigating for Dad, Warren in the Rodeo.
