2013 Nabiac Hotel Airport Challenge.

Just received the Supp Regs back this morning, this event is only a little over a month away and I think we're actually fairly organised.

The Regs will be posted here, on CNCSCC web page and emailed to all who supplied their details last year.

If your unsure if we have your details please send us a hello on modernmotors@bigpond.com and we will send you a set pronto.

So what's doing this year?

We are hoping to run the same format as last year, that is 2 races each of 3 laps on Saturday approximate 38 km total.

Then Sunday will be 1 race of 11 laps of the longer course with a mandatory 1 hour break after 5 laps, approximate distance of 159 km.

Total distance of approximately 197 km.

The old fella, Sowt, has been working continuously on the track from about a week after the last years event, by himself, slowly repairing the mess you buggers made of it last year. I haven't seen it, I'm not allowed on "that" side of the fence. Last Tuesday I got a call from The Boss who sounded more than a little pleased with himself saying that the track work was done.

What's changed?

Actually a fair bit, we are very pleased to announce that our recovery will be run by Murray Slana and his crew, they are known, respected and recommended by you to us and we are grateful to Marion Baxter for the introduction.

We will be using 1 entrance to the track and 1 exit from the track all weekend, except for prologue.

For prologue we will start single vehicle at a time, at 60 second intervals from the back of the pit area finishing at our normal start/finish line, it is hoped that this will allow prologue to be conducted faster and with more safety than we have done in the past.

Maurie Fuller is currently writing a specific timing program for our event, thank you Maurie, it is hoped that with his input our scoring should be of greater accuracy and allow for a faster finish to the weekend.

We have a Facebook event page for those that indulge, 2013 Nabiac Hotel Airport Challenge, feel free to join/ like or post.

The trial, having some cars outside the pits idea I had last year, has been filed away after proving to be more problematic that I first thought.

Any questions you have, please contact us and I will ensure they are answered.

Great to have you along, yes there is camping at track, hot shower still trying to get the others finished, catering on race days during competition and the pub bus only a phone call away for evening fun.

Cheers

David

We are hoping for a slightly cooler weekend than last year and the LRWR has it so. The race surfaces are looking fantastic (so i've been told) and the level of support out there both from within our club and from the Off Road Community in general is simply awesome, I've no idea why we've continued to struggle the way we have for so long. no

We're actually looking forward to the weekend.

only a week and a half to go now.

Cheers

Remind me to farm out the communication job next time, well she's all done and dusted, dusty being the operative word.

Had to change a few decisions, mostly about the running schedule. It wasn't practical to start 2 at a time or safe for that matter, in all the years I've been playing at Nabiac I've never seen it that dry.

My humble thanks to all those that made the weekend possible, Elaine your a treasure.

Good luck for the Colo round. Next year? We will have to see.
