Just bought a Pierberg low pressure pump to use as a lift pump but haven't fitted it yet.

We ended up buying two Bosch 044 pumps. I need to know what PSI do the facet or similar pumps need to be, and how many filters and what types of filters are people running, do you run a filter as it comes out of the tank before the first pump and then another after the swirl pot before the second pump, also are people running check valves? All help will be greatly appreciated.

The facet pump simply won't keep up with two 044's. I run a Holley red as a pull pump and it doesn't keep up with my two 044's on the dyno (does in racing conditions).

The pull pump is simply pumping as much fuel as it can so doesn't need to be regulated. Let the sucker run!

I also draw from the tank through a filter. This ensures that the pull pump doesn't get clogged with shyte / foam.

My order is SX Filter, Holley Red, surge tank, 2 x 044's, 2 x SX filters, 2 x fuel rails, regulator, surge tank, main tank.

Lamby I gather you're switching between the 044's? otherwise how do you know you've got a failed or pump down on pressure?

Switching between pumps, facet pump keeps up fine with the engines I have been running but they might not be using as much fuel as yours.

One thing I do like about the facet is they hammer like hell when they run dry. It gives you the surge tank to find fuel.

And yes, I'm pretty sure the hairdryers suck up a good amount more gogo juice than the pro lites.

sorry, one way valves are before the filters, straight onto the end of the .44s.

We have switches on the dash for each fuel system (includes the relays) so we can switch on either, or both. We found at Pines that we needed both in the long runs as we were losing fuel pressure, but that may be because the filters need a clean out.

2 seperate outlets from the fuel tank > one filter per line > one lift pump per line (about to switch to holley reds) > swirl pot > one .044 per line (mounted low), one micro filter per line, one one way valve per line > y peice > fuel rails > return to swirl pot > overflow return to fuel tank.

I'll find a pic and chuck it up.
