What's going on with the Finke race, surveys, date changes, and a lot of rumours that some NT people don't want it. Drivers input, good to see if they take note of drivers opinions or even if there showing up next year or not.
They are talking about making Territory Day a public holiday and so that business is not affected they want to get rid of one of the other public hols. Its possible the June long weekend could be cancelled and that will affect Finke. There is a link to a survey to fill out on the Finke facebook site. Everyone get on there and have your say.

The survey was put out to all car competitors to see what they wanted. We had a lot of mixed feedback from different areas about if the competitors wanted FDR to be part of the Championship or not. We put it out there and made the decision on the results of the feedback that we received. Simply put, we asked our customers what they wanted. Not such a bad thing, I would have thought.
In regard to the moving of the dates, Blacky is correct. This is something that the NT Government is considering and they have put out a survey to see what Territorians want. The Queens Birthday weekend is one consideration, along with May Day and Picnic Day. Or, what seems to be the most popular with 49% of the votes, is that we don't have a "Territory Day" and just retain the status quo.
