Race seats

Hi Guys

I am in the process of building a performance 2wd and have a couple of questions about seats and rims. I have looked on the cams web site and could not find anything that was specific about seats , so my first question is can you use any style or brand of race seat or dose it have to comply with some standard or regulations also is one style or type of seat better than the next one. My second question is do you need bead lock rims on your car/buggy as I have seen pictures of cars with and without them , is there any advantages or disadvantages to using them. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

As far as I am aware there are no specific seat regs. Some use fibreglass ones, others use aluminium (speedway style) ones, there are ones that have a tubular frame construction that are then covered in foam & vinal. My personal preference is the aluminium ones. They are very strong & hold you pretty snug as they sort of wrap around you.

Bead locks are optional, the advantage of them is you can run less pressure in your tyres without the fear of the tyre rolling off the rim. Less pressure means more traction.

Link to aluminium seats. These are the ones we use.
