The weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of August 2015 will see off road racing return once again to the rolling hills of the Jindabyne property near Mogumber, WA. The Western Australian Off Road Racing Association will be hosting Round 4 of the hotly contested WA Off Road Racing Championships at the picturesque property.
After three of five rounds Brett Smith in his Southern Cross Prolite Buggy leads the race to be crowned 2015 Western Australian Off Road Racing Champion. Brad Krepp in his 5 litre V8 powered Nissan Patrol has performed strongly so far this season and will be looking for another good result. Also expected to compete is multi-time state championship winner Brad Cooper in his Bat Pro Buggy. Grant Payne has also entered his Bat Pro Buggy and will be looking forward to making up for lost ground from the Kalgoorlie round.
The Super 1650 Buggy Class looks like it will have a strong field with former Class State Champion Dave Cowan entered in his Raptor Buggy. Peter Mellington will be making the trip from Kalgoorlie to compete in his debut season and Nathaniel Edwards who is always quick will be racing his Nissan powered Southern Cross. John Flynn in his Toyota powered Bullet may well be the one to beat though as he loves the wet conditions and is sure to perform well.
With entries not closing for another two weeks a strong field is expected across the classes. The track provides a unique challenge to West Australian off road racers with its rolling hills and wet creek crossings. With some great viewing areas spectators can see some great off road racing action in generally dust free conditions.
The weekends activities get under way at 7.00am on Saturday 23rd August 2014 with Scrutineering. Prologue commences at midday with racing proper in Section 1 scheduled to start at 2.15pm with three laps of the thirty kilometre track. Sundays racing starts at 8.30am with Presentations to be held around 1.00pm.
To get to the race venue, travel from Perth to Bindoon on the Great Northern Highway. Proceed five kilometres past Bindoon and turn left onto Moora Road, going a further 40 kilometres to Mogumber, turning right at the Pub to follow the signs to the track.
A Canteen and Coffee Van will be trackside and camping is free but facilities are limited.
