I'll be up there, not with the car though unfortunately.
Still licking the wounds from our crash at Colo last year.

May I take this opportunity to congratulate the HVORRA for the very low
entry fee this year....well done, lets hope that it attracts a big entry list.
I also hope that other clubs can look at reducing their entry fees also!

All right guys...

racer - well done on 2nd mate.  first finish at Milbrodale too!  top stuff.
Slow - Well done mate!  On the last lap I gave you a cheer, then I remembered that I hate you and chucked a  banana skin on the track in front of you.  :p
1887 - hats off to chest-clutcher!  2 years out of the seat and comes in with a top 10 in a car that was being very, very nursed!  (yes we heard the very long shift time (fully depressed granny shifts), the fact that you never got near the rev limiter).  You could tell it was being looked after, but it was still pretty quick for that!
Baja - troubles on Sat, but a decent race none-the-less?
Paul - race finish mate!  woowoowoo!
DirtDrifter...  hard luck at start of long course mate...  what happened?
HeyU - bloody great to see out at a track other than colo!  hope you had fun (until cracking into tebba that is)
Tebba - how was it going before you got smacked in the arse... before you got smacked int he arse again?
936 (errr... 196 now isnt it?) what happened mate?  I got there on Sunday and when I went lookin gfor you at lunch somebody said you'd bolted already.
Brad - Ouch mate...  Hope all is good for the finke assault!
Tim352 - Gearbox mate?  Rock, embankment or driver stupidity?  haha!  (yes yes, I'll give myself an uppercut mate!)
Simon - No brakes and stuck throttle make for somthing go ouch!
Paul (Grant) - I had fun learning about how a broken axle gets removed from a full floating 9" when the bearing stub becomes suddenly oval!  3 hours an angle grinder and a broken hammer later the freak'n fuel tank split!  Tough day, car looked brilliant though.
Adam - In an event where there was only 10sec in prologue splitting 3rd to 21st it must be tough to go out of the event so early on Saturday...
Well done also to JT & Chloe (At least I think Chloe was in the Nav seat) for 7th outright and 2nd in class!
To Jeff and Laurence Cripps for 11th outright and 2nd in class!
To Shane Filip and David Cook, 18th outright (Car looked quick when I saw it, must have had problems at some stage I guess???)
Hard Luck to Dick, Bob and Ashley, Alex, Simon, Brad and any other club member who didnt fare so well. Dick and Alex triked back to the pit, Bob and Brad both took on mother nature and lost, not sure about the others.

There were lots of displays of speed over the weekend... but it was definatly a weekend where endurance and a cool head played its part in the leader board with many fancied cars on the trailer by the events end.

*edit - fixed some speeeling and inconsequential grammatical anomolies.*

I experienced one of those moments when my enthusiasm outweighed both my driving & car capabilities, in other words I stuffed up. Bottomed out badly over drop off & smashed sump & bent a few other things.

So presently & looking to buy either some skill or common sense if anyone has some spare. New preferred but will consider used.

Am also seeking those special glasses that allow you to see through walls of Concrete, Steel, Titanium & Dust.

well what a weekend things did not go to plan for slow we went to win this race outright but it all when wrong in the prologue when we ran out off fuel    silly than we got seeded and we were stuck in the dust and by saturday night we had lost to much time so the plan was just to finish and put 220 under as much pressure as we could

so we ended up in third place which was not to bad         ps i was a little bit sad by the way some cars in the long course did not want to let faster cars pass.

pps to shane i myself do not like the tyres but they are there and you have to class them like a big tree

what a weekend all looked to be going good after the short sections but then it all went on the nose! what happened did'nt need to as the track is way wide enough for at least 2 cars to race in a stright line side by side, at least to the first corner or so i thought. anyway i collect 3 large tyres witch destroyed all 4 front shocks, front arms and both stubs. ripped my right rear arm off and busted both shocks, 1 bump stop, an axle, 2 cv's, squashed intercooler, oilcooler, exhaust manifold and thats just what i can remember chucking in the bin off the top of my head. i guess thats just racing!!! it shore does look interesting from what my brothers got of it on video especially from stright ahead.....

Frock! Bugger! Shit! Ouch! Erghh! How'd the chassis hold up? How's your neck?

So now you know what a pinball feels like I guess.

5 Weeks till Wittitrin....  Will you have enough time, or a fat enough wallet to get there?

Wasn't me, I wasn't there!!!

But its happened to me, and I'm sure its happened to others, and guess what, it will happen to all of us again.

Goes to show how important it is to get in a good prologue ....and to check ones fuel levels....1600 engines don't need much, but they do need some.

Perhaps we could use the devices used in the Dakar for the past few years. When a car is approching from behind, it activates a warning light on the dash board of the car being caught.

Dirtdrifter.....Sounds like we have some more good content for Dezert People 5
Sorry to hear there is so much damage to the car...hope it doesn't take as long to fix as its taken to fix mine...

936....If any of us had common sense or skill, would we be racing off-road?

Wolf.... can't find those see through glasses on ebay...can you help?

Good news that the basics are OK and that you werent permanently damaged.

On a side topic, if anyone has got any pics of Mr Lia on the weekend (or in the new car) I'd appreciate one for the front page.

DD sorry to see the photos of your car, it looked like it was going well before the crash, main thing is you were able to walk away, shows the value of a strong frame. If you decide to make that DVD put me down for one
