Of course, Brad, Buddy and Chappo will all be at finke.

Brad's running Milbrodale then doing the turn-around for finke - go get em mate!  Ive got $$$ down on you!  LoL!

We're day tripping to Milbrodale on Sat or Sun - the rest of the weekend is time spent in the shed!

So weve got:

Wayne and Daneen
Jones and Kell
Brad
Chappo
Buddy & Kerry

And the usual support crowd of Werner & Sue (and his ugh boots!) Boydie, Campbell etc.

Anyone know of anyone else from NSW rolling over?

The Best from the West Are Coming...

Finke is just around the corner, and after a huge round one in Hyden W.A, the locals have been riled by the invasion from the East. This is war, and the best thing to do when under siege, is attack.
With experience gained from two national rounds, in W.A, and Demon Darian Smith’s (501) success in last seasons national competition, the guys in the West are confident they have the goods to get their hands on the Australian Off-Road Title this year.
Cars are prepped, transporters are loaded and the crews have been groomed…it’s on!

Looking at this year’s contingency…

Big Bad Brian Robinson (184) is once again taking on the tyranny of distance, to bring the Black Widow back, to kick ass.
After giving contenders a chance to gain some easy points in round one, this team will be on fire next week, with his “go hard or go home attitude”, Robinson should not be taken lightly.

Robinson JR has given the ever reliable (1184) a face lift and a few secret tweaks, to ensure that speed and consistency, along with youth and vigor will see him running at the pointy end of the field.
Although relatively new to driving, and steering an older car, this kid plays hard.

Mr. Ballistic: Eric Phillips (196) has been seen sneaking around prepping his new toy for its first outing in the big desert. With an impressive maiden voyage at Hyden, and after a couple of weeks of fiddling and fine tuning, this package is ready to go the distance. These guys are Ballistic by name, and Ballistic by nature.

King Kevin Hood (191), has aligned his band of merry men to massage his latest chariot, complete with multiple seats, into a formidable package.
He will be arriving in his newly acquired mobile castle, to add class and style to the list of potential top ten finishes. Keep your eyes on this team.

If the list of contenders isn’t enough to strike fear into the hearts and minds of Eastsider’s, perhaps knowing that there is a plane load of supporters flying in to encourage their comrades, will make them shiver in their boots..

I would be putting my money on Mark Burrows.

Saw him race at Donald and without him trying too hard the car looked fantastic.  He has tweaked the engine a bit (manifolds, etc) and is also running the sequential Albins 'box.

OBR Race Report----

Blew the motor in the porter while running in a strong third about 100km from the finish.

I got a flat on day 1 and after having trouble changing it(about 20minutes later) had to use a front (tire) on the rear which didnt last long therefore having to borrow a tire off Locky Weir(thanks heaps). But managed to finish day 2 in about 14th position and ended up 19th overall.

Team Rentsch head back to Alice Springs.. The Backyard

just wanted to thank B.M.P. (ian boyd), ian irons, steve taylor, & werner 'ugh boots' zettle, for all their assistance over at finke. our results were not as good as hoped for (fuel issues), but we fininshed and had a great time!

also thanks to wayne & daneen horsfall for the use of their car trailer over the weekend.

finke is unique, & everyone should try to get there, even to spectate!

steve & kell

did not run out of fuel, still hav'nt worked out what the problem is, possible voltage drop to fuel pumps.  but many spectators thought they might need to push me over the line.

love to say i was 10th fastest, but my conscience won't let me--check out slows times query.
