Starter Motors?

Does anyone know what is the best starter motor to run on a 2ltr combi bell housing And can they please give part numbers. I have heard the subaru starter and a automatic pulsar ring gear but cant find part numbers or model numbers.

Thanks..

Hey Adam,  If you're interested give me a call on 0403 385 902.

We've got a gear reduction job with an adaptor made by Bill Croft thats going up for sale pretty soon.  Its pinion & throwout is setup for VW ring gear/bellhousing.

Its in Port Mac in mates car at the moment so he can fire his up to move it about the garage, but will be winging its way back home in the next few weeks if youre interested.

Was on our old rivvy and had no probs with either our datto (which really needed good rpm to fire it up!) or with our 4ag.

If you're just after info, not a starter, I'd still say go with a gear reduction starter!

cheers, Garry.
