A SORRA club member has asked me to start this poll to see who's interested.
At the moment a $5 fee makes you eligable for state points after you register. If you dont register, no points.
So the poll is: Should every car entered in a state round be automatically eligable for state points? Would this encourage harder racing? IE At the moment if the person in front of you is not eligable for points and you can conserve a bit - do you back off? If the person in front was eligable would you be in it that bit harder?
I reckon its a good thing, if nothing else the guys who only plan to run 2 or 3 times a year might see that theyre actually doing OK and decide to put in more events next year to have a crack. I see it as a marketing tool.
yes ? No? Maybe? Undecided? All of the above?

Fellow historians please correct me if I'm wrong. I think this registration was introduced many years ago, when both Kempsey and Griffith(AORC rounds) were also rounds of the NSW championship. I think the idea was to prevent the AORC competitors from other states taking points off dedicated NSW championship contenders.
Yes!! thats right NSW had 2 AORC rounds many years ago.
Now that NSW have NO AORC rounds, I think this registration should be dropped.
FYI. The NSWORC began as a series in 1989 and was open to all entrants at the nominated rounds. Beginning with the 1992 series a registration scheme was introduced. This was done due to these factors:
1. NSWORC serious competitors were unhappy that one event racers were able to score points at the NSWORC rounds and thus inadvertantly taking points that it was felt should have gone to NSWORC serious competitors.
2. The NSWORC at that time included both Kempsey and Griffith AORC events and sometimes a Newcastle Stadium event.
