As a few things out of my control have taken longer than expected we have decided not to race at Warialda BUT will still take her up there to show her off on the friday night and at the track on saturday. To add to that the owner was not looking as if he could get there as well due to work committments. With the truck not even tuned or tested yet it was an easy decision to make and will allow us to have the truck a little sorted and the owner with a few miles under his belt for it's race debut probably at the end of April. Will put up some photo's soon of her fully dressed and ready to play.
All ready to go on the truck for showtime at Warialda. First time with painted panels on and able to be driven out of the workshop. Nearly finished but not enough to race.
I know it is late notice but at least i tried. Truck will be at Oakville Fire Brigade Family Day and Car Show tomorrow sunday 1st april. It is being held at the Pitt Town Sporting Club, 139 Old Pitt town Rd, Pitt Town. Truck goes to Dyno monday morning.
Sorry about the lack of feedback etc. Getting truck ready for Baroota this weekend with owner picking it up tomorrow. I will be navigating with him for a few races. Dash has come out nicely and have done a few mods with radiator shrouds at front. Will get them powder coated after race.
Just looking at the dash pic, I think the navvies feet are somewhat exposed? but they probably wont notice with the dvd screen, and big stereo, and flashing colored lights in front of them! Is there I-pod connectivity?
Finally have something of the new truck to put up here. Youtube link is Youtube=SP2nbytN9oM or Baroota 2012 471. It is incar footage before swaybar arm came off a few laps later. Truck went well except for the swaybar arm coming off and damaging the spline so we had no swaybar for all of sunday. Ivan's left knee was also a problem but he got it straped for sunday and was a lot better. Looking forward to Sealake now with some miles on it and some small problems sorted. Bring on the rough stuff. Don't pick on me for not having a proper link to youtube VP.

Have been building two at the same time. One is up and racing now finally and the second is going together now. Photo's above. Both have been held up for different reasons, and also being ahead of the one being built in the states didn't help either. The one being done by ID Designs now has a customer/owner so is being finished at full speed and should be racing in a month or so. Now that all design work has been completed and some racing done to make sure everything works properly future trucks should be able to be done in 6 months or less. I have also done the chassis for myself which i will now be able to start putting some time into to make sure i will be out racing next year for sure.
Just a quick update to let everyone know that new truck will be running at Sealake in June. Haven't raced there for quite a few years now, can't even remember the last time. Should bring back some memories that's for sure.
Just letting everyone know where we are at why we didn't get to the start line at Sealake.
Have done some more testing a couple of weeks ago and all went well having fixed some small issues and finding some more. Did some aero testing as well to find out airflow over and through car. Simply done with lengths of wool etc. You would be surprised with what you learn from it. Had some engine issues at the end of testing but all looked good for Sealake. Thought we had found and sorted engine issues and all was running fine when it went on the trailer. Arrived at Sealake but the truck refused to run properly when we went to get it out. It eventually wouldn't even run. After a few hours trying to find problem and with great help from Gerald Reid we found the problem. Taking the truck back to Mildura the next morning we took the engine out and removed the crank to confirm what we had thought had happened. The crank sensor chopper wheel had moved on the crank, a problem that isn't common but does happen. The good things to come out of this are that it hasn't hurt the engine and we didn't have to wash it either.
Hopefully we have had all the bad luck for now and can get it sorted to get to Griffith and finally show everyone the potential this truck really has. It was a real kick in the guts to not be able to get it out in front of the great crowd at Sealake and for any potential customers that were there. I know we will get there soon to finally show everyone that you don't have to go overseas to get a top quality race truck at a reasonable price.
It was a pity, I was looking forward to see the car run. I was staying very close to where you were working on the trick trying to get it running. It's always hard when things like that happen before you even get the car off the trailer, but at least now you know the problem and you also have the chance for some more running before Griffith.
Just letting everyone know that truck 2 (orange frame) is now up for sale. For those that are seriously interested please don't hesitate to call me anytime on 0412 061789. Gavin
Have already had Andy on the phone asking the same question Steve. As truck is in Mildura with the owner it is up to him of course. As i said above, it still hasn't been started yet and time has run out. I think he plans to run it locally next weekend to test it and if all goes well hopefully Goondi.
Have been meaning to update but have been concentrating on getting second truck to the p/coaters for a change of colour. New owner didn't like the orange so it is gone . Will have both trucks fully sorted and ready to go for the start of next season. The first american truck races for the second time this weekend at Henderson with the latest FOX setup which we will be putting straight onto our two trucks. They have tested with this setup already and are very happy with it. Also our first buggy kit will be here around christmas time so the new year will be busy getting into that as well. The boys in the States will be starting their 2 buggies next week. Will start putting up photo's as soon as i get some. Next year is looking far better than this year that is for sure. Will keep the updates coming more regularly. Thanks Gavin
May as well do an update on the second truck. Wiring will start next week and then some testing and it will be out there getting dirty like it was designed to do. Will put up some photo's soon.
Oh Garry your attempt at humour just cracks me up.haha Truck 2 is now all wired and has been run on chassis dyno last night to check everything. It has been a very long and busy week but everything seems to be working great. A BIG thanks to Troy from TZee tuning for spending all week here and doing a fantastic job of wiring truck 2. Will put up some photo's soon.
